Simple Ideas to Keep Alive
Raft Wars is one of those games where you don’t have to put much thought into passing each level. However, if you want to get through each level with near perfect scores, then there is another level worth of hard work that you have to put in. First, if you ever owned one of the newer generation consoles, or have an original and recent PC release, then you might have noticed the many “Trophies” these games award for certain achievements. The same idea applies to perfecting games through perfect scores, and why a Raft Wars walkthrough is necessary for some people.
One of the reasons why Raft Wars can be a challenge is that much like physics based side shooters, you’d need to estimate your shot without having a straight glimpse at the opponent. This, in turn, makes it much more of a challenge to hit your designated enemy. So one of the best means to hit something is to time your shots so that you don’t you don’t take too long. It racks up points, and you’ll have much more practice in the long run. At the same time, you can also learn to estimate properly rather than making randomly ranged shots.
Another important trick in the game is to learn how to aim without actually spotting your opponents. Your character is actually set on the leftmost side of the screen, and all your targets are on the right. At the same time, a wasted shot will reflect poorly on your overall score at the end of each level, and even through you sink whole ships, doing it with too many shots doesn’t really count as a real win. Since all your shots might be estimates, a good way to think of it would be like laying a clock in front of the screen. From there, you can use the numbers on the clock to make the shot rather than going it blind. This will also help for those individual targets that are too far away from the rest. Those targets are particularly annoying because splash damage weapons don’t work on them. Additionally, well-placed shots will also let you hit targets and push them off edges, much like the old Worms game.
Use your cash for boat upgrades
Upgrade systems have pretty much become standard in a lot of games. You see it in MMOs, Online Shooters, and most of all, RPGs. An upgrade system just adds a little more excitement to the game, so it’s only right that this title adds on a little one of its own. These upgrades, while limited to the ship, are integral to improving your defenses. Since you start out as a raft, the smart thing to do is to upgrade into a more defensible ship. If you are accurate and speedy with your shots, you can attain the final ship upgrade my round 5, provided you didn’t buy ammo. Make sure to save up after that, and you’ll be a major force to be reckoned with, and no one will even dare steal your treasure.
